Very near the tip of the Malbaie there is a great, remarkable rock rising to an approximate height of two hinched feet above the ocean and having a length of about twelve hundred feet. There are three naturally genuine arches, the middle arch is large enough so that a sailboat may easily sail through it.
Joseph Bouchette, topographic engineer.
